YOU’RE NOT BROKEN:

A self-paced body image course for women

Your body doesn't need to change for you to have a different relationship with it.

You know your body image is taking up too much space in your life.

Maybe you’ve stopped dieting or restricting, but accepting the changes in your body has been much harder than you expected. Maybe you know your worth isn’t determined by your size or appearance, but knowing that hasn’t changed how you actually feel.

You still find yourself criticizing your body, comparing yourself to other women, avoiding things because of how you look, or wondering whether you’ll ever feel comfortable enough in your body to just live your life.

And underneath all of it is a question that can feel incredibly lonely:

Am I ever going to feel differently about my body?

You were never broken.

For so long, you’ve been taught, both explicitly and subtly, that your body is flawed, that you’re not enough, and that something needs fixing. These messages can come from society, media, diet and wellness culture, or even well-meaning people in your life.

Over time, these beliefs can take root as shame.

And when you’ve absorbed the message that your body needs fixing, it can shape much more than how you feel when you look in the mirror.

You may know that bodies are supposed to change. You may understand that beauty standards are unrealistic and that your worth isn’t determined by your weight or appearance. And you can still struggle when your body changes, your clothes fit differently, or you see a photo of yourself you don’t like.

Knowing better doesn’t automatically undo what you’ve spent years learning about your body.

The problem isn’t that you’ve failed to accept yourself. Body image is shaped by the messages you’ve received, the experiences you’ve had in your body, and the ways you’ve learned to understand what your appearance means about you.

You’re Not Broken gives you a place to understand and unlearn those messages, work with the shame they’ve created, and learn different ways of responding when body image feels hard.

This body image course would be a good fit for you if you:

Three women of different races and body sizes sitting together and smiling, representing the supportive, inclusive environment of the You're Not Broken body image group in seattle, WA, 98144
  • Feel like you’ve spent years trying to get your body “right,” but somehow the goalpost keeps moving.

  • Understand some of the ideas behind body image healing, but struggle to apply them when you’re having a hard body image day.

  • Want to understand how shame, perfectionism, anti-fatness, and diet and wellness culture have shaped the way you see and treat your body.

  • Are tired of body criticism, comparison, or avoiding parts of your life because of how you feel about your body.

  • Are recovering from an eating disorder, disordered eating, or chronic dieting and want additional support specifically around your relationship with your body.

  • Want practical tools, reflection, and a structured way to work on your body image without needing to feel completely ready or know exactly where to begin.

Feeling better about your body doesn’t have to mean loving how you look.

A lot of body image advice still leaves your appearance at the center of the conversation. The goal becomes feeling beautiful, confident, or positive about your body.

But what happens on the days when you don’t?

Body image work can be about learning to experience discomfort, criticism, or a difficult body image day without automatically treating those feelings as instructions for how to care for yourself or live your life.

It can mean developing more compassion for yourself when body image feels hard, more flexibility in how you respond, and more trust that you can move through those moments without having to fix your body first.

The goal isn’t to never struggle with your body again.

It’s to build a relationship with your body that can hold the hard days without those days having to take over your life.

What you’ll explore inside You’re Not Broken

This course goes beyond telling you to “love your body” or think more positively. You’ll explore what has shaped your body image, how it shows up in your life now, and how to respond differently when body image feels hard.

Your body image story

Understand how family, culture, relationships, identity, and lived experiences have shaped the way you see and relate to your body.

Body checking + comparison

Recognize the checking, comparing, and appearance-focused habits that keep body image distress going, and begin changing your relationship with them.

Self-compassion + body neutrality

Build ways of relating to yourself that don’t require loving your appearance or feeling confident about your body all the time.

Worth beyond appearance

Explore identity, values, relationships, pleasure, and the parts of yourself that have nothing to do with how your body looks.

Weight stigma + beauty standards

Explore how anti-fatness, weight stigma, and cultural beauty standards influence what you’ve learned to believe about bodies, health, worth, and belonging.

Body image grief

Make space for the complicated feelings that can come with body changes, aging, unmet expectations, and letting go of the body you thought you were supposed to have.

Tools for hard body image days

Practice concrete strategies for responding to critical thoughts, shame, discomfort, and body image spirals when they show up.

Imagine having more room for your life.

Not because you suddenly love everything about your body. Not because you never compare yourself again or have another difficult body image day.

But because those moments don’t have the same power over what happens next.

You wear the clothes you actually want to wear. You stay in the photo. You go to the event instead of waiting until you feel better about your body. You’re more present in conversations because part of your attention isn’t constantly turned toward how you look.

There is more room for connection. For pleasure. For being seen. For trying things. For taking up space in your own life.

Your body can be part of your life without having to be the measure of it.

What past participants are saying:

“My experience with the group was incredibly healing. The program covered essential topics in a way that felt accessible, relatable, and well-paced. One of the most valuable takeaways was learning how to challenge the conditioning around body image. I now have more freedom and self-acceptance, and I’m committed to unlearning the harmful ideas I once held.”
— Laurie , YNB participant

“As we delved into beauty standards throughout time, the way diet culture portrays only thin bodies, and especially how our family talked about size and weight, it really clicked with me that my body image struggles are largely not my fault. I felt empowered after the classes. Like it wasn't my fault that I was struggling with negative body image, and that my brain wasn't broken for wanting to be thin so desperately. I know now that I can actively work against it.”

— Katelyn C., YNB participant

“This program was a transformative experience for me. Katherine is an excellent facilitator and is compassionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. I left with practical tools I use daily, like practicing self-compassion, eating intuitively, and challenging the pervasive messages of diet culture.

One of the biggest shifts I experienced was moving toward greater self-acceptance and breaking free from harmful habits like body checking.”

— Amy, YNB participant

Commonly Asked Questions:

Hi, I’m Katherine

I’m a registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in eating disorders, disordered eating, chronic dieting, and body image.

For years, I’ve worked with women who understand that dieting and trying to change their bodies isn’t giving them the life they want, but still struggle with what it means to actually live in and care for the body they have.

My approach to body image is weight-inclusive and grounded in compassion, curiosity, and helping you understand the experiences and messages that have shaped your relationship with your body. I want you to leave with practical ways to respond when body image gets hard, not another set of expectations for how you’re supposed to feel about yourself.

I created You’re Not Broken to bring that work together in a structured course you can move through at your own pace, with tools you can continue returning to long after you finish.

Your body doesn’t have to take up this much space in your life.

You’re Not Broken gives you a structured place to understand your body image, work with what keeps you stuck, and practice new ways of responding when body image gets hard.

You don’t have to feel completely ready or know exactly how to do this. You can begin where you are.
